Prior to his legal career, Clete was a 3-year letterman at Quarterback for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Husker football team. Following his collegiate career, Clete turned to officiate football at the college level. In 2008, he was selected to join the National Football League (NFL) as an on-field game official. Clete was selected as Referee for Super Bowl 50 (Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers) in February of 2016. Both his football and legal careers have served to cement his natural qualities of a competitive drive and strong leadership skills. Clete remains a true professional, whether he’s on the football field or advocating for injured clients in court.
In December of 2017, Clete was named one of the “12 of the Year’s Most Fascinating Lawyers” in the Journal of the American Bar Association for his skills in advocating for his clients.
